Adams, Thomas Burton, Jr
90, of Mesa, AZ passed away on April 13, 2011. Born Dec. 28, 1920 in Quincy, Ill to Thomas Burton Adams, Sr., and Edith Stone, Tom graduated from Quincy High School and Iowa State College. He was an Eagle Scout, member of Phi Gamma Delta, member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and served as a radar technician for the Navy in WWII. Employed as a engineer by various John Deere companies for over 39 years, Tom received 2 patents for agricultural equipment disc and wheel designs before retiring in 1982. He married Darlene Gurney In Long Beach, CA in 1948 and was married to her for 52 years before her passing in 2000. Tom is survived by his sister, Ruth, his 4 sons, Bruce, Stephen, Douglas, and Keith, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Church of the Master, 6659 E. University Dr., Mesa, AZ on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 10:00AM.
