Mr. Morteo,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice-first for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and secondly for the citizens of Boston when you served with the BPD. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

I too had the pleasure of knowing Sal during my days @ Dorchester District Court from 1983 to 1988. My sister Gayle could not say it any better. Sal was from my father's generation; when gentlemen were gentlemen. And Sal was always Sal, whether he was on the job or off. When I left the court, I often thought of Sal, especially when my dad passed away suddenly in 2003. I hope that he enjoyed life to the fullest after retirement, and I believe that my dad and Sal are catching up on old times in heaven. God bless the Morteo family, and please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. He will be truly missed.

At this time, I wish to convey my sincere condolences to your family. Sal was one of the good guys; I met him years ago, while I was working at Dorchester District Court Clerk's Office. He always had a smile and a hello for anyone that he met. He also knew my dad, who was a USPS mailman at the time; he told my dad that he would watch over me and my sister, who also worked at Dorchester District Court, to make sure that we behaved ourselves! He was such a nice man and I'm sure that he will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

I worked with Sal at Curry College and he was such a great man. We had a ton of laughs and shared stories of our Italian heritage. He talked me through some tough times and I will remember him with great fondness and love. My sympathy to the Family that He talked so lovingly about. God Bless you Sal.
