Father Mac can only be described as a terrific person, great team leader, coordinator and listener. One of his top attributes was he remembered your name even after your initial meeting.
Mac will be missed. He is one person we are glad to have known.
His message of ethics, helping those in need and the ability to listen will continue by those that came in contact with him.

My the Lord smile as big and wide as so many of us did when you said Mass. No matter what the topic - you got people thinking and more importantly, you brought so many together to share in the love of God - something you loved so much.
You will be missed - but never forgotten or far from our prayers.

We met in 1951. He was the first seminary classmate I met and my first friend.
His first sermon in English class was given with hands behind his back, looking at the desks and "rapid." Our Rosaries set a record.
Amen, dear friend.

Father Mac was a special gift. Being part of his "Our Lady of the Airways family", he helped share joyous times as well as difficult and sorrowful times with me and my family. I have missed his smile, twinkle, laughter and his 22 minute masses ~ with an inspiring homily! Thank you for sharing your life with us.

Father Mac married my wife and me 30 plus years ago, but he became an important part of my life before then. He became a friend of my oldest brother, Denny, in the early 60's and married Denny and his wife, Donna, in 1967. When my father died suddenly in 1975 and my mother was dealing with the shock of her husband walking out of the house that morning and not returning that afternoon and expressed concern about having a casket in place of my father in church for the funeral mass, while other priests were unwilling to preside over a funeral mass without a casket present, Father Mac saw no theological reason to having the burial service prior to the mass and the funeral mass - the mass of celebration of life - after, without the casket present. I loved and respected Father Mac for the wonderful gift he gave our mother that day. He was a priest in the model of Jesus. God bless Father Mac and grant him eternal peace and happiness.

Father McLaughlin was a truly special priest and person, as anyone whoever met him knows. He married us at Our Lady of the Airways Chapel 23 years ago. His Sunday Mass was not to be missed. It took longer to get to the airport than it did for him to say the Mass and you would have a hard time finding a seat, but we all loved it and him. He will never be forgotten.

Father Mac will always be an inspiration to me. He embodied what a priest should be. He had a tough act to follow at St Gerards in Canton(Fr Bill Coen) but as always Father Mac rose to the challange and become beloved just as Father Bill was. God Bless this wonderful priest and human being, the Archdiocese and the world was a better place with him in it. Father Mac has gone home to Jesus and I believe that he was welcomed with open arms. Rest in peace my friend and Pastor. Jim Turner

Father McLaughlin married me 30 years ago and baptized all my children. He also baptized most of my nieces and nephews. We were very disappointed when he was transferred from East Boston. He was a wonderful priest, but also a great family friend. This is such a shock. He will be greatly missed.

Fr. Mac had the true Spirit of God in his heart and in his actions. Those of us who were fortunate enough to know him clearly saw that. He has always been a treasured part of our family. He knew my children (and all the children at St Gerard's Parish) by name. He came and had dinner with us like a grandfather would. We will always love him, and I know he is with us even now. Thank You and God Bless You Fr Mac.

Father McLaughlin was such a special person. His love and support for those in need was truly inspiring. He was the true meaning of Christianity. My husband and I were lucky enough to have Father McLaughlin oversee our wedding and I will always treasure that. I remember being overcome with sadness when he was no longer at the airport chapel. I felt like I lost my spiritual leader. He is now in heaven surrounded by peace and love.
Sincerely,
Noreen Fantasia

In the late 1980's, I attended/served Father Mac's masses at the jam packed Logan Airport Chapel. His open and intelligent atmosphere was valued by so many parishioners and friends around him. I always valued his opinion on matters because he was honest. His kindness, generosity, honesty and impeccable memory will be remembered in my thoughts and prayers.
