Ugo Pioccone Obituary

PIOCCONE, Ugo S. Age 83, of Tyngsboro, and formerly of Burlington, died Friday Oct. 10th. Husband of Rita M. (Tedesco) Pioccone; father of Ronald Pioccone and his wife Jackie; grandfather of Ronald and Stephanie, all of Tyngsboro; brother-in-law of Theresa Pioccone of Waltham; and brother of the late Aldo Pioccone. Born in Italy on Dec. 16, 1924, the son of the late Elisa (Traverso) (Pioccone) Corsi, and Biaggio Pioccone, and stepson of the late Adolph Corsi. Graduate of Rindge Tech High School in Cambridge, class of 1943. He served as a Cpl. in the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II from 1944 until 1946 in the Central Pacific Region. He was employed for many years by USCI in Billerica. In early years he was employed as a police officer for the town of Burlington. He was a communicant of St. Catherine Church in Westford, and a member of the Burlington Knights of Columbus. Friends may call at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT, on Tues. from 4 to 8 PM. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Wed. at 9:30 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 AM at St. Catherine Church, Westford. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Associaton, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown MA 02472. Mr. Pioccone,
Sir, as a fellow Marine I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the USMC in the Pacific during WW II fighting the Japanese. It was the history and accomplishments made by you and your fellow Marines back then that all of us Marines who followed in your footsteps have always tried to live up to. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

I was so sad to hear of Ugo's passing. I used to work at his PCP's office and I loved seeing both him and Rita in the office. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
