As a Dean and colleague to the faculty who worked with him, Allan Rosenfield was both inspiring and loved. Even those of us who moved on to other institutions were greeted like friends when we met Allan. His courage in the face of his illness was particularly moving. We will miss him.

The Women's Commission for Refugee Women and Children is deeply saddened to lose a valued friend and colleague. Allan was a true champion of women and girls and called attention to the particular needs of populations displaced by war and natural disasters. He was at the forefront of efforts to advance reproductive health and human rights for women and girls worldwide.

Personally, and on belalf of The Trustees of The Ronald Hal Lauterstein Charitable Foundation, we extend our condolences to Allan's family and to his extended family at The Mailman School of Public Health of Columbia University. His qualities as an individual more than matched his remarkable achievements. We will miss him.
