Virginia Glass Obituary

GLASS, Virginia M. (Fahey) Of Harwich died at home October 26th, 2008 after a long illness. She was born in Boston and was a longtime resident of Randolph, MA before moving to Harwich in 2001. This summer she celebrated her 51st wedding anniversary. Virginia is survived by her husband John of Harwich, her son John Michael of Randolph, her daughter Diana (Glass) Fish of Worcester and two grandchildren, Anne and Alan Fish both of Worcester. Also survived by her brother George Fahey of W. Newbury, sisters Kathleen (Fahey) Fitzgerald of Harwich and Anne (Fahey) Booth of Burlington VT along with a niece and numerous nephews. Previously deceased by her sister, Avis (Fahey) Meagher of Brockton and her brother, James Fahey of Dorchester. Virginia graduated a thespian from Randolph High School in 1955 and earned a legal secretary degree from Quincy College. She enjoyed a long career with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) headquartered in Quincy before retiring in 2001. She was an avid painter and active awards member of the Randolph Art Association and later with the Guild of Harwich Artists, Inc. Virginia loved her pets and her backyard wildlife creatures that made up her extended family. Virginia was an active Adorer at Our Lady of Life Perpetual Adoration Chapel in W. Harwich. A Funeral will form at the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 260 West Main St., WEST HARWICH, on Friday, October 31 at 10am, followed by a Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church, West Harwich, at 11am Relatives and friends are invited visiting hours will be at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 3-7pm.Burial will be at the Holy Trinity Cemetery on Rte 124. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to: The Guild of Harwich Artists, Inc., P.O. Box 382,Harwich Port, MA 02646 (a nonprofitorganization).
