November 30, 2012

I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have is memories and picture in a fram. Your memory is a keepsake, from which I'll never part. God has you in His arms, I have you in my heart. I miss you Geno everyday.

God Saw You...
by Author Unknown

God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you,
and whispered, "Come to me".
You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.

Miss you!

All the memories going round.
I have wished for so long.
How I wish for you today.

And the wind keeps rollin',
And the sky keeps turning gray.
And the sun is setting,
The sun will rise another day.

I have wished for so long...

Dearest Mrs. C, Jimmy and Andrea. It has been many years since I saw you and your family. You have no idea the impact, your family especially you Mrs. C made in my life. You probably don't remember the incident, but you gave me money because I was desperate. I told you I would pay you back one day, and Mrs. C remember what you told me? You said, when I give something to someone I never expect it back. The only thing you said to me was you hoped I did the right thing with it. You changed my life without you knowing it. My friend Geno loved his mother very much and he always told me how much he admired his brother. I know Andrea you turned out to be quite a lady, your brother always told me you were the pet. My heart goes out to you all. He is watching over all of us. I will always love him.

It is sad that people take others for granted--they only truly know what their worth was only when they are gone...Cherish all whom you love--stop and really look into the eyes of those who you are close to--

Dear Mrs. Cataldo (Genes MOM) there are no words to console you--so I send you prayers for your son, they are worth more than anything I can say to comfort you--Keep him alive in the hearts of his children, never let them forget him as I'm sure you won't..I worked for Gene quite a few years ago..I was and still am impressed by the gentleman you raised..You are an amazing Mom, that can never be taken from you--I wish you peace in your heart and may you find comfort in the arms of his children...God Bless you --again I have no words...I promise you a lifetime of prayers for Gene every time I kneel down...

in the arms of an angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may find some comfort here
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here

There will never be another Geno.
We miss him tremendously. Our hearts are broken...will they ever heal? We do know he is safe with God above and we will see him again.

Never thought it could be you,
I never wanted it to be true.

My brother just disappeared.
Darkness came as fast as his angel wings appeared

My tears will never go away,
A part of my heart has been thrown away.

When I heard the news,
I put my hands to my face
Not wanting to look up and because I didn't hear your clues.

I heard you say it'll be okay
And that you will be with me each day.

I kneel here looking at you, memories running through my head not believing my brother's life was gone.
I couldn't see those big brown eyes and that wonderful smile that always brought me along

God, take this pain away from me.
I never got to say goodbye,
However, I do understand why.

It was too late to help him,
but all I can do is wait.
Till then I'll be missing him
but my memories will never fade.

To the Cataldo family:
Please accept my deepest sympathies for your recent loss. As some one new to the industry, trying to break through it was my pleasure to work with Gene early in my career. He was one of the most patient, friendly and genuinely kind individuals that I have ever had the honor of meeting. I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing but take solace in the fact that I was able to know some one such as Gene. One behalf of the entire Ferguson family we extend our deepest condolences. Geno, god bless you and know that you will never be far from our thoughts and prayers

To All of Geno's Beloved Family,

You all need each other now more than ever before. Be there for each other during times of sadness, anger, and frustration, because you all will at sometime or another feel all these emotions. Then try to reflect on all the many, many happy times and laughs you had with Geno. He was truly one in a million and will forever be in our hearts and minds.

Here is a little poem for all his loved ones he left behind.

Letter From Heaven

To my dearest family, some things I's like to say....
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
"It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for you dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight;
God and I are closed to you...in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember, there would be no flowers unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all the God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one think is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

So if you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain, then you can say to God at night..."My day was not in vain."

And now I am contented..that my life has been worthwhile, knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So, if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low, just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free,
remember you're not going home...you're coming here with me.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Geno he was a great man and a highly respected individual. Geno was also a very patient and accomplished boss, which i was lucky enough to see first hand working for the Winters Company for about 3 years. In that time Geno taught me so many tricks of the trade and put in alot of time so that i would be a successful person not only in his company but in my life. I feel not only pleased but truly honored to have been apart of the Winters Company and known Gene Cataldo...

Mrs Cataldo, Jimmy, Andrea, and the Cataldo Family...to this day, I still remember playing street hockey up the park with Eugene & Jimmy and...when it came time for them to have to go home...how Mrs Cataldo would always call out "Eugene CATALDO!" from her front porch. I've always found it endearing how she would include his last name when calling for him, as though our little neighborhood group included more than one Eugene. As it was back then to all of his friends, there has only ever been ONE Eugene, and he will be dearly missed. My thoughts and sympathies go out to The Cataldo family. God bless you.
