It's been almost a year, and I still have not adjusted to your being gone. Now there's no one to ask questions of about what happened when those many years ago.
I miss you, more than I imagined I would.
With you and Bill gone, it's lonesome here. Not that I'm asking for acceleration in my case, you know.

Knowing Maruerite's daughter, Joyce, has been an inspiration to me. To raise such a passionate caring woman meant that Marguerite must have been a very special person, herself. This means the community has lost an asset. The hearts of her many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will continue to spread her ideals, charm, humor and responsibilities for generations to come.
God bless,
Kay

There are a couple of other facts about Marguerite's life that many of you may not have been aware of:
When she graduated from Belmont High School she was offered a full scholarship to Wellesley College! Unfotunately, at the time, our folks finances were very limited, so Marguerite turned the offer down because she felt she could not afford to dress appropriately;
On another subject, in the 1980's or 1990,s I was testifying as an expert in court in Worcester. When the judge heard my name, he asked if I was any to Marguerite Juechter, and I replied that I was her brother. The judge then explained that he had been one of her classmates, and that she had been the smartest student in the class.

The Cord (Author unknown)
We are connected
my Mother and I,
by an invisible cord
not seen by the eye.
It’s not like the cord
that connects us ‘til birth.
This cord can’t be seen
by any on Earth.
This cord does its work
right from the start.
It binds us together
attached to my heart.
I know that it’s there
though no one can see
the invisible cord
from my Mother to me.
The strength of this cord
is hard to describe.
It can’t be destroyed.
It can’t be denied.
It’s stronger than any cord
Man could create.
It withstands the test,
can hold any weight.
And though you are gone
though you’re not here with me,
the cord is still there,
but no one can see.
It pulls at my heart
I am bruised...I am sore
But this cord is my lifeline
as never before.
I'll miss you, Mom.

I would like to add my words to those already written.
I could not have had a sweeter, more friendly sister-in-law than Marguerite. She was always welcoming. It was a pleasure to be in her company.

My Mother was my teacher in so many ways. She was very patient, gentle, kind, loving, compassionate and always forgiving. She was the kind of Mother that my friends always admired. As far back as I can remember, she was always taking someone in to our home.
Mom had a passion for the Big Band music, and she loved playing the piano. She loved Poetry. She loved playing Yahtzee with Sandy until all hours. She read books and magazines every minute she could.
I think her all-time favorite was Baseball. She would not be interrupted for anything when there was a game on Television.
Mom loved Knitting and Crocheting. She made dozens of Blankets and Afghans. One year for Christmas, she made everyone hats, scarves and mittens. When we were growing up, she used to knit our dolls clothes. I can still remember sitting in the pile of ironing in the Dining Room in Brighton playing with my dolls.
Every year at Christmas time, Mom always made sure that there were Christmas Stockings (AKA) “Pantyhose” for everyone and they were overflowing with stocking stuffers. Some nights, they would come crashing down because they were so heavy!
The Holidays were very important to Mom because her family were always together. The Christmas sing-a-longs were quite a party and always talked about for weeks after. Some years we had taken videos which we will cherish.
Mom was an animal lover too. She let us keep Einstein, our family dog, when Rich and Joyce brought her home. When Einstein had puppies, Mom had her Boarded so she could care for her puppies until they all had homes. She let us take the dog with us every Summer when we went to the cape.
I know that Mom tried to be both a Mother and a Father because she worked all the time. Whenever some crisis would arise at home while she was at work, like “pick up some groceries on your way home” or “David is acting up again” or “Robin won’t go to school again”, she would try to give us advice over the phone. When she would come home at night, she would be way too tired and fall asleep sometimes before she could even eat her late supper. She lead a long and busy life, being Married 4 times and raising 10 children. We all have different memories of the times we spent with our Mother, but we will all miss her very much.
Most of all, Mom loved her Children. She would do anything for any one of us. She had a way of bringing the Family together. Just recently, Sandy and Jim moved back to Massachusetts and everyone is together just as Mom wanted.
Whenever I listen to my Big Band music collection, I will think of her. My mother taught me to be the best person I can be and I am forever greatful.
Love, Robin

I miss you already
I know you're not gone
Just one step ahead
And one world beyond.
The memories I have
Are more good than bad,
I thank God for all
the fun that we had.
I wish I could hold you
just one more time,
Another memory
that would only be mine.
I'm not really selfish
You were my best friend,
And I refuse to believe
That this is the end.
So save me a space
real close to you,
I know that's another thing
That you would do.
Think of all of us
you have hugged and kissed,
And let me tell you
Oh how you'll be missed.
Your loving daughter

A Place to Rest
God looked down on your body,
So tired from hanging on,
From a life that was overwhelming you,
And wanted back His child.
So he took away the air you breathe,
And gave you what was best,
A place to be at peace,
A final place to rest.
Marguerite you will always be in my heart. I will always remember that little smile. May you rest in peace.
Your loving daughter-in-law.

Sandy,
I think it was around 1970 when you and your family came into my life. Your door was always open to me, and I will never forget that Christmas when Mum gave me my very own pantyhose stocking filled with all kinds of great things. (I knew I was part of the family then.)
Your Mum was such a strong person and I admired her very much.
Miles and years have kept us apart, but you have always remained in my heart.
My deepest sympathy to all of you.
