It is with sadness that news of Duncan's passing has reached Newton Center, his other home town.

As City Clerk of Newton, many of his nursing home permits passed through my office and needed approval annually. Duncan became a good friend to the neighborhood.

Duncan was very accomadating to find beds for many Newton seniors in need of care. Duncan held a very professional reputation in a very competetive and demanding business. I was glad to have known him as a friend.

With sincere sympathy, Edward G. English, Newton City Clerk Retired.

I was terribly saddened to read of Duncan's passing. I had a professional relationship with Duncan for many years and always admired his integrity, courtesy, and intelligence. He was a perfect gentleman. I did not know that he had been ill and had not been in contact since he moved to New York several years ago. Jean, please accept my condolences and know that my thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Please extend my sympathies to your family as well.
