To all of Kayla's family,
I came upon this page while I was searching the internet for Janey. I am a very old friend of hers but have lost touch with her over the past 7-8 years. I remember Kayla. What a beautiful sweet and innocent girl she was. I am so sad to hear that she is no longer with us. If anyone knows how I can get in touch with Janey, PLEASE contact me. My heart goes out to all of you.

Dear Carpenter Family,
Thinking of you with deep compassion and sorrow. I was with Lee when he received the voice message letting him know of Kayla's passing; we are so stunned. I visited with him today and he asked to go to Jamaica Pond just to sit -- that was one of the places he took her to talk. Kayla was one of the few people that Lee has kept in his life -- she gave him a true prospective on life. She will surely be missed on many levels. Remember, those we hold most dear live in our hearts forever. Thank you Kayla for being my son's best friend.

Smiles and laughter are a more true measure of life; Kayla has already outlived us all.

I remember when she became an aunt, at age 5. She was very serious about it, as well as excited. Dad (me) was more or less in vertigo.

Thank you for the great memories, Kayla.
