John T. Hannigan

(Ret. Capt., USCG Res.), 64 of W. Wareham, died Fri., Oct. 19, 2007 at his home. He was the husband of Paula S. (Kunze) Hannigan. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late William & Isabel (Coughlin) Hannigan. A graduate from Merrimac College and Univ. of Wyoming, he also attended Northeastern Univ. and the Naval War College. A previous resident of Dedham and Walpole, he moved to W. Wareham in 2005. Mr. Hannigan received his commission in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1969 and served on active duty until 1972. He retired as Captain from the Coast Guard Reserve in 1992. A civil engineer, Mr. Hannigan was a member of the Soc. of American Military Engineers and the American Soc. of Civil Engineers. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Michelle A. Hannigan of Dorchester; a son, Lt. Sean P. Hannigan, USCG and his wife Dina R. of Mobile, AL; his sister, Evelyn Brink of Weymouth and two grandsons, Ryan John Hannigan and Jase Patrick Hannigan. His funeral service will be held on Mon., Oct. 22, at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), WAREHAM at 11:30 AM. Interment will be in the Mass.
