Dear Barb..
David and I were saddened to hear of Toms passing. We just got back in town, or we would have been at the wake. Tom was a gentlemen in all ways and a loving family man. I remember all you both went through for quite a few years. I had such respect for you as you stood by his side through it all even till now. May you find peace in the memories you and your family had with him, Barb, you are in our prayers. Thinking of you...and your family.....

With deepest sympathy to the Hanlon family from an old neighbor on Tamarack Street and classmate from STA school, class of 1943. I had hoped to renew our friendship at a class reunion soon, but now my thoughts and prayers are with Tom as he attends a more joyous reunion with our classmates in Heaven. Best wishes to all the Hanlons from a school friend of both Tom and John of so many years ago, Don

Mr. Hanlon,
Thank you for showing me such a great example of how to be a husband, father and man.
I found this Old Irish Prayer I hope it helps the Hanlon family-
Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there... I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow...
I am the diamond glints on snow...
I am the sunlight on ripened grain...
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you waken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of gentle birds in circling flight...
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry—
I am not there... I did not die...

Goodbye, Tom. You were like a brother to me. A classmate at STA (Class of '43), you gave me a job at Cornell Lab when I really needed it. I really appreciated that act of generosity. We had many good times together, especially on St. Paddy's Day and during the World Series. I'll miss our annual birthday calls but especially your kind, warm spirit. I'll never forget you and pray for you.
Your Friend, Charlie
