Robert John Hanlon

Robert John Hanlon passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Mae Hanlon, as well as his siblings, Donald Hanlon and Aileen Lyons.

He is survived by his five children-Daniel Hanlon, Michael Hanlon, Robert Hanlon Jr., Stephen Hanlon and Mary Beth Gardner.

Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Robert graduated from Mount Saint Michael Academy and later served in the United States Army. After his military service, he earned a degree from Manhattan College and went on to apply his engineering expertise to such groups as Westinghouse, NavCom Systems and the Federal Aviation Administration.

Robert was actively involved in his community, coaching youth baseball for the Mago Vista Civic Association and serving as a long-time parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park, Maryland. In 1998, he retired to Maryland's Eastern Shore where he enjoyed painting and following Notre Dame Football.

Private funeral service will be held at The Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin, Maryland. A private interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, Delaware following the service.
