Mary Theresa Delaney

Mary Theresa Delaney, age 75, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at The Macky and Pam Stansell House in Ocean Pines, Maryland. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Michael Delaney and Kathleen Rowland Delaney and long time partner of the late Joseph Krohan. Mary graduated from Cardinal Dougherty Highschool where she was a proud member of the drill team. In fact her love for twirling started at a young age with the Lawncrest Baton Twirlers where she performed in many parades twirling fire-lit batons. She later attended Temple University where she earned a degree in Social Work and worked at a Children's home for a short time. Mary went to work for the Philadelphia Postal Service where she remained until retirement. This is where she met her partner for over 40 years, Joe Krohn. Mary and Joe moved to Ocean City, Maryland in 2008 where she volunteered as a member of the OC Recreation Boosters and at the local food banks and homeless shelters. Mary was a very kind and happy soul who loved her music, monkeys, pizza and a good walk in the sun. She could be found walking on the boardwalk most sunny days and knew most of the local walkers and homeless. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Herron, and a nephew, Thomas Herron and many, many friends. Cremation followed her death. No formal services are planned at this time.
