Ramona,

I will never forget the time I spent in NYC with you. All the stories we shared about when I was a kid. Remember You and me like little kids in the sprinkler for hours because it was so hot. Running for the bus with all the bags from shopping. I love you always and forever. May you rest in peace. Love cuca

My Dear Friends:

I was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Ramona. Once again, I was taken back to the good old of days of Seventh Street, coffee con Dona Geralda, all the Perez kids and our years of friendship as family with all of you.

My heart goes out to all of you. Ramona brings back many memories of life when it was simpler and when we all lived in the same neighbors and we were just across the street from each other. Going to New York, Ramona claimed her life and made the City her home. Yet, she always came back as we all do. Buffalo and Seventh Street link us together. WE may live far away these days but we're always linked to yesteryear and nuestros amigos y familia.

I understand that she passed away gracefully in her sleep. I know no better way than to close one's eyes to this world and wake up with Christ, your parents, sisters, nephew and other family welcoming you to eternity.

Know that you are all in my heart. I pray for peace because no one wishes to lose a mother, sister, aunt or friend. So even in the midst of the grace of heaven there is human pain and sadness. May God comfort you in your grief. May he wipe away your tears and may we, those who love and care for you as family, be of comfort during this difficult time.

I am sorry that distance does not allow me to be with you. I carry you in my heart and prayers. I will say a prayer tomorrow so that I can be united with you in the Mass of Christian Burial.

Recently, I lost my cell phone with my contact information. I am unable to call. Louie and all if you, if you get this I'd love to check in with you. My cell number is 573-424-4678. My e-mail address is linked below.

God's grace and peace be with you.

Love,

Chaplain Justo Gonzalez, II
