Genevieve Schweitzer Obituary

SCHWEITZER - Genevieve (nee Snell) July 20, 2008, beloved wife of the late Frederick C. Schweitzer and the late Robert J. Furlong; devoted mother of Karen (Thomas) Hubner, Bonnie (David) Wright, Randy (Christina) Schweitzer and the late Jerry Schweitzer; loving grandmother of nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister of Mildred Monie Klenk and the late Edna Babe Ackerman. The family will be present on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at the (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5200 Sheridan Dr. (corner of Hopkins Rd.) where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM. Friends invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith United Church of Christ, 1300 Maple Rd., Williamsville, NY, 14221. Online register at www.Amigone.com

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. It is difficult to lose a parent and my thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time. I remember your mom from when we were young and she was always friendly and kind to me.

I am saddened to hear of Jen's passing. I worked with both Fred and Genny at Consumer's Beverages from 1980-85. (And nephew Pete also.) They were terrific people to work with and wonderful just to be around. I have thought about them many times since those days. I recall that they were married on the same day my own parents were married: June 21, 1947. I recall that Gen had a strong and compassionate heart, and that she was gracious and pleasant in conversation. I offer my condolences to the Schweitzer family at this time. May the comfort only God can provide touch your hearts during your time of sadness.
