My Family belongs to St Andrews and I saw this Man and Women, some 20-30 years my senior at Mass every week. I was always impressed by the way it left me at peace whenever I saw them. I did not have to speak to them just their smiles were enough. Then about 3 years ago Alfred and I had a chance to sit and talk with each other. I told him my last name and he asked me, “How are you” in Polish. At that moment we were like life long friends. We talked more and within a few minutes we figured out that Alfred and my Uncle worked at a local company during the War. We became Brothers. Alfred had a Golden Pass into my Inner Circle that few people are allowed into. The last few years I saw less of Alfred and his wife. I was told that he had Cancer. When ever I saw them in church I was happy and sad. Knowing that this was maybe the last time I would see him.

I know I will see my Friend with his great smile waiting for me in Heaven. It must be true if someone smiles at you and it makes you feel good. It is God’s way of telling you that all is ok.

God Bless
