Uncle Peter and Aunt Sharon,
We were so sorry to hear about Mr. Lankes. He was such a kind and wonderful person. Always happy to be at another family party. We are so lucky to have known him. Grandma has been talking a lot about him. She thought the world of him. We all did. We will keep you in our prayers.

Lankes Family
I was sorry to hear about the passing of George. I knew George from the years that we worked together on the creation of Central Police Services, while I was a Amherst Police Officer. George encouraged me to return to school and complete my degree. I have followed in his footsteps, becoming a Criminal Justice Instructor and now chairman of the CJ Dept. at ECC.

To the family of Mr. George Lankes: In 1966, Mr. Lankes took a chance on a 17 year old kid, and accepted him in the first day Police Science program at Erie Community College. 42 years later, I am still working in the law enforcement field. I am and will always be grateful for the opportunity he gave me to learn and work in this profession. He was a mentor to me as I am sure he was to countless others who have pursued this career in so many different law enforcement agencies. My sincere condolences to all in his family. My prayers are with you all at this sorrowful time.

I remember him as an Instructor in the Criminal Justice program at ECC North Campus when I was a student there in 1976. He provided a lot of valuable guidance to me about going to work for the FBI, an agency I remain employed at to this day.

Mike and Family,
Just learned of your Dad's passing and recently had the pleasure of sharing breakfast with him at the St. Joe's Alumni Mass. He and my Dad regaled the table with memories of their years on the Main St. campus, their shared FBI days and a good friendship. Though we're in Dallas visiting family, please know that we send a good thought and prayers for you and family. May you all relish the memory of a truly good man.
Regards,
Jim Duggan

Virginia, I have wonderful memories of the many kindnesses your mom and dad extended to me. They welcomed me into your home and treated me as one of their own. You are in our thoughts. George was a dear friend, who recruited me to work for the FBI in 1962. He was a class act in every way--just saw him at one of the FBI agents' luncheons not too long ago--always so pleasant with an ingratiating smile and laugh. I will miss him...............you are so fortunate to have such wonderful parents, who were so special in every way. Please accept my deepest sympathy.
