Dorothy Dawson Obituary

DAWSON-Dorothy F. (nee Bowen) 85, died Wednesday in Northgate Manor. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Rose (Lasheir) Bowen. On December 27, 1944 she married Jack E. Dawson. From 1958 she worked as a school teacher for both Prince of Peace and St. John de LaSalle Schools. In 1985, Mrs. Dawson retired from St. John de LaSalle. In addition to her beloved husband of sixty-two years, Mrs. Dawson is survived by five children; Karen (Medard) Lisiak of North Tonawanda, NY, Cheryl (late Daniel) Proctor of North Tonawanda, NY, Doreen (David) Hoppy of Getzville, NY, Terry (Rick) Carroll of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada and Gary Dawson of Arlington, VA, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Dorothy is also survived by one sister; Rose (Richard) Carberry of Ransomville, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother; Frank Bowen. Friends may call today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007) where funeral services will begin on Saturday, September 29 at 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Prince of Peace Church, 1055 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the American Heart Assn. I'm really sorry to hear about Dorothy. I remember many great family get togethers. I'm sorry I can't be at the services as I'm flying to Florida to my Dad's house on Saturday morning.
