To the Walters Family,
I knew Mike for many years as I served as Town Supervisor and during my many years as a Vol. Fireman. Mike was a dedicated servant for the people. The EMS community will certainly miss Mike, not only for his dedication to the fire and EMS service but for his expertise in the EMS service and his willingness to share it with those in time of need. Mike was and always will be loved and respected by all those who's life he has touched.

Dear karen & family
I just learned of Mikes death this morning and am truly saddened. It is seldom that an individual touches so many peoples lives in such a positive way.Mike tho was just that kind of person.I got to know Mike thru the Collins Fire Co.He was instrumental in setting up the clinic here to vaccinate our firefighters & ems people against hepatitis.he was knowledgeable, compassionate, friendly, and never at a loss for words. His presence at fire scences with Father Joe was so welcomed by everyone. Mikes knowledge and love for EMS will live on .I'm so grateful I knew him.May you find comfort in all of these beautiful memories. God bless you .

Dear Karen and Family,
Tom and I did not have the history as most did with Mike and yourself, but the few times we were together it was obvious that life was to be lived to the fullest.Your love for each other was so apparent from the first moment we were introduced. Mike will be missed. Our deepest sympathy and prayers at this time to you and your family.

Mike and my father worked for many, many years together at the Training Academy. Mr. Walters made sure to attend my dad's retirement party a few years ago and said many kind things about him. He always came out of his office to make my sister and I feel welcome when we would come in to visit the EMS office. Those little things are what endeared him to everyone he met. What a wonderful, professional, kind man this world has lost. Please remember that every moment Mike had on this earth was spent making it better for the rest of us. He is a true hero.

We were very saddened when the news reached us. After over thirty years of ENA and EMS projects the emergency nursing community will miss one of our strongest supporters. We are sorry that we will not be able to be at the services we are wintering on the west coast, but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and I know Mike will continue to watch over us which was something he was great at.

Karen and the entire Walters Family,
Knowing Mike was to know compassion. Mike has never walked away from anything, and especially this life he walked with many of us. A piece of him is in each of us who have had the great fortune to know him. Much more of his legacy is carried by his family. Morals, values and so many great times. He will live on in each of us. So while he has a better seat on the Harley in Heaven, he will still be with us; guiding us, celebrating with us, through our trials and triumphs. While I will miss seeing him, I know he is still there for us. And he will ALWAYS be just a whisper away for you.
Mike is a loyal man, with a loyal following and a great legacy that he leaves behind. Rest easy.

Mike was always willing to help us, even here in the "boonies" whenever we asked. I considered him a freind and a peer; especially in the field of CISM. Always a gentleman and always a smile on his face. Is not the goodness of a man really counted in the number of friends, near and far, that stand up to honor him in this time of loss? He was certainly a good man!
