Dear Jan and Kevin,
Although some time has past since hearing of Jim's death I am still sadden by the news. Jim had the largest capacity for love of possible any person I have ever known. It has been a long time since I have seen or spoken to Jim but I know he never changed in that remarkable ability to always see the good in people and be an inspiration to those who knew him. Your family has been in my prayers for several months and will continue to be there.

Dear Jim, Colleen, Janice, and Kevin: There's no way I can express all my feelings for you. You have all my respect, all my love, all my sympathy, and all my solidarity. I think Jim was gifted, willing to share his gift with those around him, unconcerned with petty problems, lived his life with directness, simplicity and force. The unfair circumstances of his death must someday grow small compared to the largeness and goodness of his life. With all my heart I hope Jim lives forever in your memory, and the Lord who he tried to serve comfort you.

Dear Jan and Kevin and all your extended Family,
I just heard today from Mrs. Trainor, Sr. about Jim's passing. To say that I was taken aback would be putting it mildly. I am so very saddened by this event and for the loss of such a gentle, funny and warm person. I know I saw you mostly at Matt and Anita's house for parties; still, you were part of the "Trainor Constellation" of friends and relatives, and it was always good to see you, and watch Kevin as he grew. I didn't know til today that Jim had MS. I wish I had, because I found out four years ago that I do, too. I'm sorry I missed the chance to commiserate with him about that.
My thoughts and prayers are and will be with you for a long time to come. Sincerely,
Debbie Drews

To the Mulqueeny Family:
Please, on behalf of myself and the crew at Com/Rad Inc., accept our condolences on the loss of Jim. I knew him through the Village and the CTA where we interacted on various projects occasionally. He was a remarkable guy, the kind of person we need more of in this world. Words cannot express how a person like Jim positively influences his surroundings. He will truly be missed, but his memory will live vividly in our hearts.

To Mr.& Mrs. Mulqueeny,
I am so sorry to hear about Jim. I remember him from St. Daniels, when we did a Cole Porter night, and he sang "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" to me. My parents, Andy & Flo Thames, also send their condolences. They are living in Midland, Tx. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Jim's wife and son.

My sincere condolences to all in Jim's family.
I too remember Jim from St. Ignatius where we shared the stage in at least one play.
I believe I was also fortunate enough to be present at Jim and Janice's first meeting, during my college days as a bartender at the Emerald Isle Pub downtown. Jim confided to me almost immediately after setting eyes on Janice that it was love at first sight for him.
A tragic loss for his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Jim Mulqueeny was a kind man with a gentle smile and a forgiving soul. His brilliance was often overshadowed by his quite and sweet demeanor. His absence from this life will have a lasting and profound effect on his friends and co-workers for many years to come. Hopefully in time, the memories will grow sweeter and the pain will be less sharp.

I fondly remember Jim from plays (Richard III, & Front Page) years back at St. Ignatius where he was a couple of classes ahead of me. He had a poweful voice and was a friend to all. I'm happy to read he continued to perform and that he had a loving family. My heartfelt condolences to you.

Jan: Our prayers are with you.
We were deeply saddened to hear about Jim. This brings back a lot of fun memories from our time with him in the Divine Savior Parish from 1987 to 1990. That was a wonderful time and Jim was a big part of it. I remember at his house once he showed how he was composing his own music with his Apple computer. He seemed like a genuinely creative and friendly guy.

To the Mulqueeny Family,
I was very saddened to hear of Jim's untimely passing. I always remember him from St. Ignatius as quite a happy fellow. His singing and guitar playing were a treat and I enjoyed working with him in the theatre both there and at Benton House in Bridgeport. Although we didn't see much of each other after high school, he still seemed to be the same outgoing, upbeat fellow that I knew then when we saw each other at the St. Ignatius 25 year reunion. I will always remember him singing "Lincoln Park Pirates" and "Dear Abby, Dear Abby".
Please know that you and Jim are in my thoughts in this time of grief. May the tragedy of his passing be replaced, eventually, by the warmth of his memory.
With greatest sympathy,
Kyle Stephens

Very rarely do you meet someone who you like the minute they say ‘hi’. When I met Jim, just last year, there was something in the way he shook my hand and looked me in the eyes that let me know he was a good man and someone I immediately liked. We are not made weaker for having lost Jim but rather stronger for having had the opportunity to meet him.

To Jan and Kevin: Jim was truly an inspiration to me over the past 16 years at Divine Savior, his heart, his genuine friendship and his beautiful voice will be missed greatly. It will be difficult to look up at the choir and not see his smiling face, but I truly believe he will continue to be there with us in spirit. His voice will forever remain in my mind when we sing, it will be difficult to imagine our lives without him. I love you both so much, Ron and I and the choir will continue to be there for you whenever you need us. To Jim: you were truly a gift to so many, a beautiful person whom we were blessed to know. I know you will keep singing in heaven and I know personally I will miss you so much. I promise you, the choir and I will try our best to sing tomorrow to celebrate your wonderful life. We love you our dear friend, you will never be forgotten.

To the Mulqueeny family,
My deepest sympathy to all of you, losing husband, father, son. I joined CTA in 1987, forming a new group with Jim as a key person. His professional skill, his wit, his easy ways with all, his phenomenal memory, his puns, are some of the ways he made that time, that group so special, so good, so effective, and so much fun. He is taken from us all too, too soon.
