DOROTHY DIAMOND Obituary
Dorothy K. Diamond, age 86; beloved wife of the late Dr. Harold R. Diamond; dear mother of Alice (Mitch) Link, Don Diamond, Merle Orr, Nancy (Tom) Gertz and Brian (Janet) Diamond. She is a cherished grandmother and great grandmother and aunt; sister of Norman (Harriet) Kremen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 18th, 2011, at 10 a.m. at The Piser Chapel, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd., (at Church St.) Skokie. Interment Menorah Gardens Cemetery, Broadview, IL. Memorials may be given to the charity of the sender's choice. Dear Alice, Don, Brian, Merle and Nancy,I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom, she was a wonderful lady. I will always remember her on how kind she was to me when I would pick-up Alice in the morning to walk to school. I would see her in the neighborhood many years later always kind, with a smile and full of wisdom.

I was sorry to read about Dorothy. Robi, Brian and I wanted to add our condolences. We have fond memories of the Diamond family from very early on.

Dear Alice, Don, Nancy, Merle and Brian (my childhood friends). I was so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom - Dolly - as we all knew her on Brummel and Dobson. I have such fond memories of often going across the alley to your home and spending lots of time with all of you and your wonderful mom. She was a wonderful lady and an inspiration to many who knew her. My sincere condolenses to all of you and your families.

Alice, so sorry to hear about your mother. My mom passed away in 2009 and I miss her everyday. Take comfort in your wonderful memories and share them often especially with all the kids; it helps to keep her close in your thoughts. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

I miss our daily personal and sometimes academic wranglings from when you come out of your room, exchange daily greetings and then go right into pointing out how I was missed on my day off. The sound of piano music from your room as you played(self taught as you always told anyone that gave you praise) behind closed/partiallly open door, now silent creates an emptiness and silence.
