The first though is of the Marti Graw at St. Gregory's and the dancers of which Don was a party. The fun we all had putting on the Marti Grew at Gregory's.

I have so many fond memories of Rose when we all lived in St. Gregory Parish.
She always had a smile and a kind word every time you saw her. She was the one who sewed my costume for a school play, and altered my wedding dress. I remember her measuring my waist with a shoe lace because she couldn't find a tape measure. She was a dear friend to my Mom, who I know will miss her so much.
You can't help think of her meeting Don at the gates of heaven and hearing the familiar "R-O-S-E" greeting for which he was so famous!
She led a wonderful life, and I know she is enjoying the rewards for that in heaven. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Jerry, Mike, Tony, Mary, Donna, Greg, and Family,

I was so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. What a great lady she was. I'll always remember her enjoying a cigarette and a cup of cold coffee. And for inviting me over to swim in the Hartmann pool on Gregory St and buying Christmas cards from me when I was a kid, and for sharing her famous Philly cheesecake recipe with my Mom when they hung out together on "club" nights with all the ladies. I can still hear Don yelling "Rose!" in the old neighborhood and see them both smiling and laughing in my mind. May God bless and comfort all of you now as He welcomes Rose into Heaven.

Love and hugs to all,

January 17, 2011

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Many happy memories of Rose remain in my heart cause when I say Rose I see her husband Don. To all of the Hartmann family I give my loving sympathy. Rose, a wonderful mother who always stood by her children and friends. Rose and Don gave many acts of kindness to their many friends. There is a happy reunion in heaven with the many that have already reached the gates. Love and prayers, Marylyn Ahlfeld
