FLORENCE B. SCHROEDER

Florence B. Schroeder, nee Steffes, age 97. Born February 6, 1914 in McHenry, IL the daughter of the late Jacob and Eva Steffes. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Schroeder, whom she married on October 3, 1936. They were lovingly blessed with three children, Thomas (Freda) Schroeder, Annette (Charles) Schoenjohn and Marsha (Robere) Cheek. Cherished grandmother of Susan, Steve, Wendy and Leanne and great-grandmother of Sara, Maggie, Thomas and Winston; dear sister of the late Lucille (the late Vernon) Harrison and the late Emily (the late Richard) Hester; fond aunt to many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Florence was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary Church in McHenry and graduated from McHenry High School in 1932. In 1944, Ralph and Florence settled back to Ralph's birthplace in Palatine where Florence became a member of St. Theresa Church. She worked as a telephone operator and later managed the Delores Eiler Dance Studio. She finished her working days as a secretary at District 211 administration office, retiring on May 3, 1974.
