Our prayers are for the entire Kramer family. Being a neighbor of Al and Ronna in Naperville, Ronna always found time to stop by and to say "hi" to our two young children. No matter what was happening in the world, the stories she shared were always about the importance of family. To Al and the rest of the Kramer family: we will miss Ronna and there will always be a special place in our heart for her.

I was two when my dear cousin Ronna was born. She was actually my third-cousin, but we were a close family and that was a minor distinction. As children we were about as close as siblings and as adults, well, though separated by 2300 miles, we were still probably as close as siblings and only as far away as our regular phone calls.

Ronna and I grew particularly close on a 1957 visit she made to California with her mother, Edith (my mother's cousin) and her older sister Myrna. She was 10, I was 12 and we were kids - with a secret song between us, the whistled Colonel Bogey March from the Bridge on the River Kwai, and after that, for years, that was how we began out telephone conversations, not with hello, but with a whistle that often ended up in laughter.

Ronna will always have a special place in my heart. Her lymphoma was diagnosed at roughly the same time as my wife, Barb's leukemia. How could that have not brought us closer. We loved the pictures she shared with us by email as her and Al's family grew, and we are so grateful that we at least got to see her and meet some of her beautiful family on our last trip to Chicago.

She had a beautiful heart, and was always telling us stories about the impact she'd had on so many students. My memories of her will always be more than just fond.

My dear, sweet cousin, you are now and will always remain a permanent part of my love circle, a select group of memories I call on when troubled or in need of comfort. I will miss your voice but never your memory.

With love and heartfelt sorrow to her family and all who really knew her. Barb & Hal Horowitz

Ronna and Al came into our lives almost 25 yrs. ago. You welcomed us with open arms. How lucky we have been to be part of your family!!! We cried and laughed together thru the years. We shared so much during the time we were neighbors and we kept doing so even after we moved away. She will be missed plenty, but the memories will live on forever. Our prayers to the entire family. RIP Dear Friend.
