Emanuel A. Winston, 78; beloved husband of Gail (nee Sloan); loving father of Rabbi Adam (Tsapora) Winston, Lilach (Dr.Darren) Taichman and Daniel (Mindy Sarah) Winston; proud grandfather of Binyamin, Devorah, Shayna, Shifra, Bracha, Shimon; Elya, Mira, Becca; Navah, Elisha, Emunah, Elazar, Simcha, Ahuva, Eliyahu and Yosef; dear brother of Annette (Bob) Lapine and the late Herman Z"L (Hester) Weinstein; fond brother-in-law of Suzi (Chuck) Bramson-Brooks; adored uncle and cousin of many. Dedicated and tireless defender and champion of Eretz Yisrael and Klal Yisrael. Memorial Service Monday, 7:30 a.m. at North Shore Suburban Chabad, 847 Central Ave., Highland Park. Interment will take place in Israel on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to The Central Fund for Israel, C/O H. To The Winston Family,
I just happened to read this online today, while looking for my old friend from kibbutz hatzor, Danny Winston. Although I never met Mr. Winston, he stood out in my memory because of all the great things his son, Danny, would share with us on the kibbutz. I am sure he kept me digging through cereal boxes in the 1970's as well. Certainly, Danny's love for family and friends, his creative and spiritual strengths, are ongoing tributes to his father.

I saw Manny's obit in the Jerusalem Post. I appreciated reading his material online.
