John J. Schutz, 56, Exeter, passed away on Friday from a recent illness. John is the son of the late Jerry and Peggy Schutz, Pringle.
He was a 1987 Bishop O'Reilly graduate and a 2004 graduate of King's College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. John was a United States Marine serving during the Gulf War and receiving an honorable discharge.
A senior insurance adjuster, John was employed by EMC Insurance. He was an avid sportsman and a sharpshooter marksman. He belonged to several area hunting and gun clubs. He loved to hike the great outdoors and shared his gift for photography with loved ones.
John's greatest love was gathering with family and friends, sharing stories and making lasting memories.
He kept everyone laughing with his sense of humor and creative animation. He was a devoted Notre Dame football fan, and loved cheering for his nieces and nephews in their sporting events.
John is survived by three brothers and three sisters, Peggy (Neil) Mullin, Jerry (Lisa) Schutz, Ellen (Corey) Welch, Mike (Andrea) Schutz, Chrissy Gidula, and Eric (Katie) Schutz. John had 11 nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and nephews.
A visitation and memorial service were held at Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc., Funeral Home, Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.
