Deborah A. Atherholt, 66, of Plains Twp., passed away Friday evening, October 11, 2024, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born on March 12, 1958, in Norfolk, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Ronald C. and Victoria C. (Rakowski) Reese.
Debbie was a graduate of Greater Nanticoke Area High School, Class of 1976, and attended Luzerne County Community College. She was employed as a nursing aide at Birchwood Nursing Center, Nanticoke. She and her husband, James, lived for a time in New Iberia, Louisiana, where Debbie loved the Cajun Cuisine. She and her husband James R. Atherholt would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on November 24, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Laberta Ruminski. and her sister-in-law, Donna Perhach.
Surviving are her husband James, Plains Twp.; sister, Rebecca Ruchinski and her husband, Anthony; niece, Alicia Dukes and her husband, David; and their children, Arienna and Preston Dukes, all of Nanticoke; niece, Autumn David, Kingston; and nephew, William Kemmer, Wyoming.
Funeral services for Debbie will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main Street, Plains Twp., with Deacon Donald Crane, officiating. Family and friends may call Wednesday morning from 9 to 11 am at the funeral home.
