I can honestly say that Poochie was my best friend at Gwaltney/Pomoco. He kept me on my toes! We spent everyday laughing and joking around. Poochie was always a character! He always had an interesting story to tell and I loved to hear them. I will truly miss him as will everyone.

My first encounter with Poochie was in 1958 when I moved to Smithfield. He was a fixture at Gwaltney Motor Co., as much so as the owners. He was always helpful, pleasant, jovial, and knowledgeable. No doubt his presence at the Company helped make the Company what it was - fair, modern, helpful, pleasant, etc. As far as I am concerned he was an icon of the area and will be truly missed.
