Julia Forcier Obituary

Published by Grondin Funeral Home - Rochester on Dec. 8, 2010.
Julia ‘Junne’ A. Forcier, 87, of North Andover, MA, died peacefully on Saturday, December 4, 2010.

She was born to the late John and Anna (Lucas) Leso in Denmark, ME on March 30, 1923. She was one of twelve children. She married the late Rodney E. Watson in Denmark, ME and bore five children. He died in 1961. She later met and married the late Paul J. Forcier, and they took up residence in Lisbon Falls, ME and then later in Rochester, NH.

Junne was an active member in the Denmark Congregational Church and loved singing in the choir. Throughout her life she was an avid reader, word puzzle enthusiast, and poetry lover. She was enthusiastic about all sports but definitely was the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots number one fan. Her patriotism was highly spirited and contagious. Above all, however, she cherished her children.

Junne is survived by five children: Gary Watson, of Dundee, Oregon; Ronald Watson, of Hammond, Oregon; John Watson of Denmark, Maine; Mary Kirkpatrick of Tamworth, New Hampshire, and Kathleen Watson of Atkinson, New Hampshire. She also is survived by ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. You may send a check to Alzheimer's Association P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011 or donate online at www.alz.org.

To my cousins and their families, I remember a weekend at the Denmark house, mostly hanging out with John. Junne cooked donuts for breakfast which I thought was really cool. While they were still warm, she shook them in a paper bag with sugar. That might well be the best breakfast I ever had. I recall a quick smile and a sparkle in her eye. It also was clear that Ma (Rodney's mother) liked her quite well. That's a pretty good qualification.

To one of my best friends in High School and my buddy in the Marines, Ronnie. I remember your Mom very well from all the days I spent in Denmark and knew she always worried about us and wanted nothing but the best for us. My thoughts are with you my friend during this time of loss.

Kathy,
I have vivid memories of your Mom way back when in Jr High; she was always a 'spitfire' - and I remembered too how much she loved you and how proud she was of you. And, yes, she loved the Red Sox - -I remember her wearing her Red Sox shirt proudly. Treasure the memories and the legacy she has left to you. And, especially at this time of year, know that she is witnessing the miracle of Advent and Christmas, up close and personal.

Love and prayers to you-

To my Watson Cousins, So sorry to hear about Aunt June. We always kidded about making Thanksgiving gravy at the Mason's family gatherings so long ago. We were the "experts". Always received such nice long letters from her too. Thinking of all of you, Love,Lynda
