Lynn Delong Wheatcraft, 78, of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – G.T., Columbus, MS.

Mr. Wheatcraft was born February 27, 1932 in New Lexington, OH to the late Maurice and Frances Delong Wheatcraft. He was a resident of Columbus, MS for the past five years, having moved from Milton, FL. Mr. Wheatcraft served in the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sargeant from 1952 – 1972, worked at Germanna Community College in Virginia, and was an education specialist with the U.S. Navy for ten years.

Mr. Wheatcraft is survived by his wife – Mary Warren Wheatcraft, Columbus, MS; step daughters – Faith Mace, Diana Brown, and Dee Malinich, all of Carlisle, PA; brothers – Neal Wheatcraft, Twinsburg, OH; Dean Wheatcraft, Columbus, MS; six step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

Lynn gave a good fight to his enemy, but apparently it was time for him to be with god. Now he is at peace and can fish whenever he wants to. You will be missed dear friend. But your memory will live forever in my heart. We will fish together again someday. God bless you. Love your Step Son in Law.
