Dear Ben and Dianne
The art of mothering and fathering is to teach the art of living to children. You both did that so may times over, which was certainly reflected in the out pouring of love for such an extraordinary and caring man - your son Ben at his service and afterwards.

I remember all the wonderful growing up years for our children in the neighborhood, the friendships, the shared joy, the sheer pleasure of being a kid, and the pleasure of being a parent watching it all unfold. We are so sorry for your loss and will keep you all in our prayers at this sad, sad time.

What a perfect eulogy. Though I only knew Ben in passing- mostly through his closest friend and my co-worker- I knew him to be exceptionally likable, friendly, sincere, pleasant, and fun. It is a tragedy for someone like that to be taken from his friends and family, but a blessing that such a good person can leave behind wonderful memories. My thoughts are with his friends and family.

Our immortality is not the things we accumulate or that we produce even in a lifetime of work or writing and creating like art and music...it is that part of ourselves which we leave in others. Ben is immortal. I will always carry a part of him in my heart and soul as a very special gift he gave me and my family. The... things that matter most in our lives are the things we do in the spirit of love. Ben gave of himself in that spirit and we are all better for it. My heart and prayers are with Ben, his family, friends, and those who loved him and whose lives he touched in such a special way.
