Robert Joseph Panek, age 62, US Army Veteran, beloved son of Chester and the late Helen; cherished brother of Jan Bending and Richard (Meg Wolitzer) Panek; loving uncle of Sabrina (Tony) Brugger, Sam (Kim), Susan and Andrew Bending, Gabriel and Charlie Panek; and great-uncle of Kaila, Tristan, Peyton, Amber and Amanda; dear nephew, cousin and a true friend to many. Funeral Wednesday, April 20 beginning at 9 a.m. from Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge and proceeding to St. Monica Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Entombment All Saints Mausoleum. I used to know Bob during the 50's and 60's. All of us guys used to play baseball on the diamond across the street from his house. He was a smart nice guy - I'm glad I knew him. Rick Breese (formerly of 5030 Sayre) I'm so sorry for your loss.
