Caitlin McGuire Obituary
Cait was a 2005 graduate of Dallas High School, where her youth was characterized by her athleticism and gregarious personality.
She graduated in 2009 from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where she was a member of the Theta Tau Omega sorority. She was expected to graduate from Marywood University with her master's degree in educational psychology in 2012.
Caitlin loved life and always put others before herself; she had a keen intellect, a kind heart and an adventurous spirit. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Cait was better for it. Her family and friends can't imagine life without her, and she is sorely missed.
Caitlin was predeceased by both her paternal and maternal grandparents.
She is survived by her mother, Anne M. Koes, and stepfather, Thomas, Kingsley; her father, Kevin McGuire, Wyoming; her sister, Maureen A. McGuire, Baltimore, Md.; her stepsister, Amber Koes, Mooresville, N.C.; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A memorial viewing will be held at Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas, from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift in Cait's honor to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org/donate, as she was passionate about her mother's fight against breast cancer.

Words can't even describe how much you have meant to me and so many of your other friends and family. Your loss is devastating to us all but we find comfort in the fact that you are now in a better place. I send my condolences to the McGuire family and everybody grieving over this tragedy. Cait was such an animated, cheerful, and overall fun person to be around. She was as sincere as she was confident in herself, and she made friends with all walks of people. She was one of those girls that really fit into any situation and made sure everyone felt included. It's so rare and hard to find people who are truly accepting and nonjudgmental, and its so unfortunate for all of us to have to live without her now that she is gone. We all miss her terribly and none of us will ever really learn how to live without her.
Thinking of her Mom, dad, and Maureen, and all of her friends. She will always be with us, and all we can do now is let her spirit live on inside of us.

EJ and I are so very saddened by the tragedy and the loss of Cait and the pain that you and your family are suffering. Cait and her friends were the first group of ninth graders I taught at Dallas and I was fortunate to have the opportunity to see her grow and mature into a strong young woman over the course of high school and college. Cait’s sense of humor, larger-than-life personality, and passionate demeanor will live in my memory for a life time. Please accept my deepest condolences and know that she has impacted countless lives and will be greatly missed.

It says that anyone who has ever met cait is better for it. I have known cait for several years and I can proudly say that I am a better person for that.
