My sincere condolences to all of the Shankles. He was my best friend in High School. He was like the big brother I never had. My thoughts and prayers are with you Carla, as well as Alexandra, Geno, Holly and Kelsey. I saw him last, about 2 years ago out here at the AHMGT. And I was glad I did, all he could talk about was his loving family and how happy you all made him. I was so glad he found you Carla, even though I have never meet you. I am truely sorry for your loss.

Matt and his family shared a truly magic time at Oceanside Harbor in the early 70's. Matt was a great guy to have as part of the crew.

I am pleased to hear he shared his love of sailing with his family.

I just heard about Matt's passing. Anyone who has ever known him speaks of his kindness. He was a terrific guy. I saw him a couple of years ago, the first time since we were kids hanging out at the harbor. It didn't matter; he never changed. My sincere condolences to the family.

Matt was a true classmate and friend. I will never forget the memories and enjoyment we had during the days of our youth. We had some good times and during our life enjoyed the times we shared. The earth has lost a dear friend but Heaven has gained a eternal friend. Matt put in a good word for me and save me a spot. Aloha bruddah until we meet again.
