Arthur Armas Obituary

ARMAS Arthur Armas, 61, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011. Art Armas served the El Paso IT Community for more than 40 years. Born and raised in El Paso, he attended and graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso. He helped the El Paso Community progress by serving at the County of El Paso, EDS, Bancology, Consolidated Data Processing, and currently as Director of Information Technology at the City of El Paso. His extensive IT knowledge included all areas of computing and more than 30 years of management. His community involvement included serving on the El Paso Community College curriculum review boards, assisting in the development of future IT professionals. Art also managed six full data center moves all around El Paso. Mr. Armas is preceded in death by his father Constantino Armas and his daughter Lisa Armas. He is survived by his life partner of 13 years, Margie Gamez, mother of his children Edelmira S. Armas, daughter; Monica Armas-Bonzano and son-in-law Davide Bonzano, mother, Victoria C. Armas, brothers; Constantino Armas, Jr. and wife Trudy Armas, Bill Armas and wife Maria Briones, Rick Armas and wife Barbara Armas, Daniel Armas and wife Mayra, sisters; Margie Landavazo and husband Ephren, Linda Sue Madrid and husband Roger and Sylvia Armas, grand-children; Catia, Luca, Ines Bonzano, Susanna, Gabriella, Lucas, Dalia Arenas and Sofia Seigel. Visitation for Arthur will be held Sunday, April 24, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer of the rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East. Funeral mass will be Monday, April 25, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
