I'm so sorry to add my condolences so late. My deep condolences to Eddie's wife children, and grandchildren. I am also sorry for the loss experienced by his mother, sister Margie, and brothers Tony and Pete. I met Eddie back around 1979/1980. I always admired his dedication to his family and thought he was a great guy. It's a great loss.

"Eddie O" words can not express the pain I felt when I heard of your passing. It was the exact pain I felt when I lost my older brother Andy in 2002. You have touched my heart since the first day I met you with your wisdom, patients, guidance and your caring for a new fellow detective. You were like big brother to me and I will never ever forget it Eddie.
Sometimes I find myself asking myself this selfish question: "Why does God take away the GREAT ONES?!" I just can't believe you're gone my friend, my mentor, my brother. Thank you for the memories, the laughs and, most of all, thank you for your ultimate sacrifice to this GREAT CITY.
Until we meet again. Rest in Peace my brother, my friend.

Eddie O you will be truely missed. You were a great man and a great Detective. You touched many people lives in such a positive way. I never heard you speak ill of anyone. As a Detective you and your partner never played "good cop...bad cop" you played yourself "nice cop and nicer cop" and always got the job done. On 9/11 you responded to the W.T.C. attack and did what had to be done. You also responded to the S.I. landfill, numerous times looking to recover victims of that attack. For this selfless act you gave your life for others. There is no greater gift then to lay down ones life for another. You are my Hero. May God Bless You and Your Family.
