Michael Heath Obituary

Michael J. Heath, Sr. 1940 - 2011 CHICOPEE - Michael J. "Mike" Heath, Sr., 70, of Chicopee, died on Saturday July 30, 2011 in Chicopee. He was born in Springfield on November 28, 1940 a son of the late Charles B. and Grace (Boardman) Heath and attended Springfield schools. Mike was employed as a roofer for many years. He had owned and operated Atlas Roofing and also worked with the Local 248 United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers. Mike also went on to serve as a business agent for the Local 248 from 1996 to 2006. Above all, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Heath; and a sister, Joan Marie Devine. Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him including his children, Thomas J. Heath and his wife Lois, and Michaela Jean Charpentier and her fianc Robert Adams, all of Chicopee, Micahel J. Heath, Jr. and his wife Tiffany of Springfield, and Heather Ann Heath of Chicopee; his eight grandchildren and four grandchildren; his brother, Charles H. Heath of Wilbraham; his sister, Mary Paine of Chicopee; and his many nephews and nieces and extended family members and friends. Mike's family will receive friends on Tuesday August 2, 2011 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road in Springfield. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Wednesday August 3, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres, followed by Committal Services and Interment in Adams Cemetery on Tinkham Road in Wilbraham. Donations may be made in Mike's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
