Dear Barbara and Kevin,
Ours hearts are so heavy for you! We think of you everyday and silently pray that the spirirt of Christopher helps you get through the day! Barb all I can think of is your sweet mother, who was my boss at the courthouse and how her warm smile was there to greet Chris! Please know we will always treasure the years Kevin would bring him by the house when he was babysitting. He was such a great boy! Always happy and always telling Kevin where his next stop would be on the circuit! Stay strong and remember Chris was your angel on earth and your angel will be waiting with outstretched arms when you are reunited again.

Dear Barbara and Kevin
I am so deeply sorry to hear about Chris. I wish I could have been at the services to see you both in person but I was away and just found out. Last time I saw Chris at one of our family parties I remember thinking what a nice kid he is and he was so full of life. After reading this guest book it's easy to see how many people he touched.
Please know I am thinking of you both.

Mr & Mrs Burnham,
Having lost a child, I know there a few "definites" that occur after the loss, after the services, after the final goodbye:

Flowers will wilt.

Donated food will go bad, or just suddenly seem unappetizing.

The visits and "how are you doing" phone calls will slowly start to reduce.

But the most important one: you will remain parents. He will remain your child. Your memories of Chris are yours, and yours alone. They can never be destroyed, thrown away, or seen less of.
Hold onto those truths and know that though the pain lasts forever, so do the blessings you were given 20 years ago.
I think of you both often and pray that the grace of God carries you softly through this time.

Kevin and Barbara,
Words cannot convey the sadness we all feel with the loss of Chris. We loved seeing him and he was welcome at our home any time. Never have we known a happier young man! He spoke of you both with great love and admiration. A hole is left in all of our hearts, but we have great memories to keep Chris's spirit among us. He was a great friend to John and treated Ryan like a little brother. We will think of him with love and fondness. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

If you were ever the new kid feeling lost and lonely, looking for a warm smile and friendly welcome, you were glad that Chris was there.

If you were ever in need of a pat on the back or a boost of confidence, you were glad that Chris was your teammate.

If you were an acquaintance and you felt touched, you were glad that you met Chris.

If you are a cousin, or an aunt or an uncle you are happy that Chris brought joy and life to our family.

As a parent you are beaming with pride that your son took all that was good from each of you and offered it to all of us.

There was never a room that Chris entered that didn’t get brighter or a person he touched that didn’t feel lighter yet today doesn’t seem very light or bright to us.

But Chris lit a spark in each of us, a spark of happiness, of friendship of hope. A spark that can and must grow in us each and every day.

Take that spark that Chris gave you, remember it, nurture it, make it grow into a lasting part of you, but more importantly, do what Chris would do and give it to others. In the spirit of Chris, touch others the way that Chris touched you.

Chris, Thank You for being a friend, a nephew and a son. We are all better for the time we spent with you.

We will miss you but you are still with us all in a very big way. Chris, we love you and we will see you again soon enough.

Chris, i didn't know you too well, but in the brief time i was around you you were one of the nicest and most cheerful people i had ever met. When i was a freshmen you were a senior and we had Art 1 together. Clearly you were one of the well liked seniors and rightfully so. Everyday of that class you were the life of the room and were always nice to everyone, including the freshmen which showed your kindness at a greater level. I always looked up to how funny and entertaining you were and i have missed that ever sense that semester was over. This tragic news has really stopped me in my tracks and left me speechless. My prayers go out to you and your family.

Dear Kevin and Barbara,
I have never met you. But I did know your son, Chris. He was a friend of my son, Steve, and they played golf together at Minnechaug. Your son was one of the friendliest, kindest, and funniest of Steve's friends. He was also always nice to my younger son, as a brother of Steve's, although he is several yrs. younger; that meant a great deal to Peter. Chris always had a smile and a wave, even to my husband when he saw him at the golf course. Our heartfelt sympathy is with you at this most difficult time; words are not adequate. A part of Chris will live on in all who had the good fortune of knowing him, even in some small way. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the Burnham Family:
The loss of a child must be so overwhelming and horrific. I wish to express my hearfelt sympathy to your family. It is most likely that he would have been destined for great things as well.-
