I just saw this and it saddens me. Ms. Tatum was an awesome mentor to me starting at Bellingrath, and Lanier...and then, as we worked together as colleagues...Thank you, Ms. Tatum! Love you! Liz Scott Peterson

Miss Tatum was my teacher at Bellingrath (also taught two of my older sisters) and then was my nurse at Jackson Hospital when my son (now 27) was born. EXCELLENT teacher - and excellent nurse. I loved her very much. Just found out recently that she passed away.

I also had Miss Tatum for PE at Bellingrath. She was my homeroom teacher in 7th grade, and it was fun to eat lunch with her. I had her again in 8th grade. I was happy to see her move on to Lanier with us.
Requiescat in pace. May the angels lead you into paradise.

Ms. Tatum taught both my two older sisters and me P.E. at Bellingrath. I was fortunate to have her again at Lanier. She was a wonderful teacher. Forty-two years later she is still at the top of my list of favorite school memories. Thank you for all you taught us Miss Tatum........Cherie Estes Foshee, Class of 1971

Ms. Tatum was a great cheer sponsor, P.E. teacher and a wonderful person. Believe it or not, she was never in a bad mood and always treated the squad like we really had some sense!! I felt a kinship to her since I knew her brother (my 8th grade algebra teacher) and her niece, both from Holtville. She and her brother were great educators and devoted their life to our children. I am so sorry to hear that you were so ill but am comforted to know that you are happily united with your family in heaven.

Miss Tatum was the best PE teacher at Bellingrath and Lanier. She was tough on us, but she had a heart of gold. I have a lot of great memories of her classes..RIP Miss Tatum.
