Thompson Sue Obituary

THOMPSON, Betty Sue (Holman), 84, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 26, 2013, after a long illness. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, Orrin Lee and Emma Holman, daughter, Peggy Niehoff, granddaughter, Rebecca Broom, five sisters, and one brother. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Dianne Wilson (Ken), grandchildren, Adam Broom, Missie Waldburger (Tim), and Robin Brummett (Darell), six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved pet, Molly. Mrs. Thompson retired from her job with the State of Alabama after 40 years of service. She was a long-time member of Eastmont Baptist Church who loved her church family and sharing her faith with others. She was a lifelong University of Alabama football fan. Her laughter and smile will be missed by all who knew her. Her family gratefully acknowledges the staff of Gentiva Home Health, Vista Care Hospice, and Joel Bolen, M.D. for the outstanding care they provided her. Services will be held at Leak-Memory Chapel Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 30, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Mike Northcutt officiating. Pallbearers will be Frankie Brunson, Philip Dobbins, John Gates, Randy Holman, Richard Holman, and John Tyler with Allen Burlingame as honorary pallbearer. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
