Anthony Mattei Obituary

MATTEI, ANTHONY Anthony Mattei, age 89, of West Haven, loving husband of Julie Rubino Mattei, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather, died Wednesday, February, 2, 2011 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. Anthony was born in New Haven, April 20, 1921, son of the late Frank and Mary Urbano Mattei. Before retiring many years ago, he had been a real estate agent/broker with McLean & Tiernan of West Haven for over 25 years. Besides his wife, Anthony is survived by two daughters, Gail (Ronald) Celentano, and Marylou (Bill) Boguniecki, both of West Haven; 4 grandsons, Ronald Celentano Jr. of West Haven, Scott Celentano of Colorado, William Boguniecki Jr. of Milford, and Eric Boguniecki of Orange; and 6 great grandchildren, Ronald Celentano III, and Hadley, Paige, Lea, Jake, Jon Boguniecki. Anthony also leaves a brother, Frank Mattei of New Haven and a sister Camille "Dolly" Boros of New Jersey. He was predeceased by his sister, Suzanne DeMichael. The funeral will be from the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven, Monday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Church at 10:00. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Donations in Mr. Mattei's memory may be made to the Hospital of St. Raphael Foundation, 1450 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06511-9839.
