Lorraine Lemarie Achary

ACHARY Lorraine Lemarie Achary passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Michael A. Achary. Lorraine is survived by her three children, Michael M. Achary, David C. Achary and Anne A. Kramer; her nine grand children, Andrew Achary, Ryan Achary, Trey Kramer, Lesley Achary, Philip Achary, Lindsay Achary, Emily Kramer, Amanda Achary and Kelly Kramer; her sister, Marie Lemarie Greve; her sister-in-law, Rose Achary Esler; her brother-in law, Thomas A. Greve; her daughters-in-law, Judith L. Achary and Gaylyn L. Achary and son-in-law John N. Kramer, Jr. Lorraine was a life-long New Orleanian and devoted member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. She lived a full life in support of her loving family and was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy and attended St. Mary's Dominican College, both in New Orleans. Lorraine was a former employee of New Orleans Public Service, Inc. and served many years as an Executive Assistant at the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians, also in New Orleans. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 3368 Esplanade Avenue in New Orleans on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:30 A.M. Friends may visit at the church after 10:30 A.M. Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
