Doris Chambers Obituary
She was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Chicago. Before her death, she had been living with her son, Michael of San Diego, for nine years, and before that in McHenry and Burton's Bridge. She was a member of Evangelical Free Church in McHenry.
She was the wife of the late Harry R. Chambers Sr., whom she married May 3, 1942; loving mother of Laura C. (James) Schwarz of Des Plaines, Patricia A. (James Michael Williamson) Marshall of Banks, Ore., Bonnie L. (Ted) Ziegler of Schaumburg, Harriett (the late Raymond) Rossi of Littleton, Colo., Susan K. (Dennis Sr.) Dalmann of Cary, John P. (Pamela) Chambers of Ringwood, Michael E. Chambers of San Diego, Kevin M. Chambers of Felton, Calif., and Steven A. (Tami) Chambers of McHenry; grandmother of 28; great-grandmother of 47; and great-great-grandmother of one.
Beside her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Harry R. Chambers Jr. and David W. Chambers; and her grandson, Dennis A. Dalmann Jr.
A celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at University Christian Church, 3900 Cleveland Ave., San Diego. For information, call the church at 619-295-4146.

Your Mom/ Grandma was a JEWEL! She was the first one I talked with when I attended University Christian Church. She made me feel so welcomed!
Doris, I miss your smile and your great hugs. You have blessed my life in so many ways. The love you have shared with others will continue on in all the lives that you touched.

Doris was always fun & upbeat to be with & we shared many laughs at meals together with Laurie & Jim. I enjoyed hearing her stories of the plays & skits she preformed in. When I think of Doris her warm smile comes to mind.

My sympathy to all of Doris' family. I met her at Laurie's house and she was such a delight to talk to, and was upbeat despite the medical problems she was facing. I am sure you will all miss her greatly. May God watch over you as you grieve.

Dear Chambers Family,
I have truly lost a great friend,confidant, and Mother figure. Doris and I were able to share many good times as well as bad. She was ever encouraging and concerned about others rather than herself. Lunches were a special visit time for us and we also enjoyed so many CWF meetings with lunch at University Christian Church. Members there and I will never forget the last she attended, the Christmas Tea. It was such a special vist there for her and all the members as she had been so house bound. It was a chance to see her friends once more.
Michael, thank you for meeting all her wants and needs. She wanted for nothing.
Doris, you were truly God's faithful servant. As does He, you loved us all. Thanks for the many memories.

Doris "MOM", You've been my Second Mother my whole adult life, my love for you can only be matched by my love for your most loving son Micheal. You guys are My Family, Holding your hand as you left us will always be the hardest and most honored moment of my life. Hello all my old friends from Burton's Bridge and Bay View Beach Bible Church. Your Mom was a wonderful person and I have many fond memories of her as a performer (Ventriloquist), friend to my mom and also mother of my childhood friend Mike. I am so sorry for your loss and understand your grief. She however is doing great visiting with her family and her Lord Jesus Christ in her new home (Heaven).
