I only know your story because of you're sister, Lindsey, who was a friend of mine growing up. She mentioned you a lot even back then when you were so so little. I also lost my brother what has been a year ago now and know the pain radiating daily through the hearts of your loved ones which is why i am lighting this candle for you, Ian. May this little symbol help your spirit to ignite life, hope, faith, peace, and understanding inside your family. Rest easy Rebel.

To: Ian's family,

I read the story in the paper today about your wonderful son, Ian. I am so very sorry for your loss. I truly understand your pain and while I know how much this hurts, I promise that you will get through this one day. We too, lost our 12 year old son, Jayce, 3 years ago in a tragic accident. He also was able to be a donor through Life Share. Our son was an avid baseball player as well and also loved the New York Yankees. Our boys sound so much alike. Please know your family is in my heart and prayers.

Dearest Greg and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. I want you to know that if you need anything day or night we are here for you. I wish at time like this I could say something magical to take all of your pain away.
We look to God why something like this could happen and one day he will answer our questions. Stay strong. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I remember being at Donna and Manny’s house watching the OU games and watching you with Ian, he was a wonderful boy and that is reflection on what a great dad he had. Take care of yourself we will always be here for you.

Although Dylan has only been a REBEL for a short time our family has enjoyed watching Ian play ball. Ian sat across from Dylan while eating during the Ardmore tournament and Ian made him feel so welcome, just like he had known him forever. Ian was and always will be a GREAT kid. I am Dylan's Nana and I cannot begin to imagine your grief. My heart breaks for your family. I cannot find the words to tell you how sorry we are for your loss. Ian will be greatly missed by long time friends as well as new ones.

Greg, Jennifer & Peggy: While we, as Billy's (Rebels #11) family only knew Ian for a short time it was as if he had always played ball with us and that all of you had all been with us forever. We loved watching Ian run those bases, man, that boy could run!! "Once a Rebel, always a Rebel" comes from the heart of every family on this team. We are fairly new members to this family and came to the Rebels through the tragedy of losing my daughter and son-in-law (Billy's parents) in a motorcycle accident. The Rebels enveloped Billy in their loving arms and made him feel like be "belonged" and not so alone. We feel like Alex and Tami are the baseball parents in heaven and that they will watch over Ian for you. I am so sorry for your loss and the pain of losing a child that you are having to suffer. I will pray for the peace and comfort that only God and time can give, even though it never goes completely away and you will think if Ian daily. Please know that the Rebel family will keep you in our hearts and will always be here for you. REBELS #11

Peace & comfort I pray for your family and for all those who knew you.

May God bless you and be with your family at this time of great loss. Although I do not know you, I have seen Ian on the ball field. As a mother of 2 boys, ages 10 and 12, my heart goes out to you. The tribute to Ian on the Rebels website is absolutely beautiful. My son ( a baseball player) looked at it and said " Mom, that is really cool. That's what I would want". I can't imagine how hard this is on you, but know you are in my prayers and Ian is in a wonderful place. God bless you.

We are connected,
My child and I, by
An invisible cord
Not seen by the eye.

It's not like the cord
That connects us 'til birth
This cord can't been seen
By any on Earth.

This cord does it's work
Right from the start.
It binds us together
Attached to my heart.

I know that it's there
Though no one can see
The invisible cord
From my child to me.

The strength of this cord
Is hard to describe.
It can't be destroyed
It can't be denied.

It's stronger than any cord
Man could create
It withstands the test
Can hold any weight.

And though you are gone,
Though you're not here with me,
The cord is still there
But no one can see.

It pulls at my heart
I am bruised...I am sore,
But this cord is my lifeline
As never before.

I am thankful that God
Connects us this way
A mother and child
Death can't take it away!
