Daddy I don't know why I think of you everyday but today especially and I don't know why. I miss you terribly I've come a long way. You told me to fight I didn't know what you mean at the time now I do. I think I won the fight because you showed me how to be strong. I haven't been able to part with your ashes as you wish but like the dream I kept you where you were as you told me. We all will be together as a family of five like we never had that opportunity. Daddy I miss you so much no one and nothing can take that place I wish you were here to see my grandchildren how they would have loved you and how you would have loved them they would have been your pride and joy daddy rest. I can't wait to see you in heaven. I love you Daddy rest in peace.

Daddy,
I know that you are in peace. I know that we made the right decisions. I know that I'll never hear your voice again or see your face or your smile. I know that I have to admit this to myself and accept what I cannot change. I know that you would tell me that I NEED to grieve so that I can move forward. I know that I'm in denial. But I also know that I depended on you to help me through. Daddy, help me through this. I don't know how. I miss you, Buddy.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
