I just found out today about Tom's death. Every year on Christmas morning, Tom would get up very early to drive my Mother and I into New York City so we could look at the tree in Rockefeller Center and then wait while Mom and I took a horse carriage ride through Central Park. Once we were done,Tom would insist on finding a Dunking Doughnut to get us hot coffee and a ridiculous doughnout with red icing and sprinkles ( he always had one as well. )Tom picked me up at the train station and drove me to West Paterson several times a year, and I felt like Tom was a part of our family. He certainly made our Christmas mornings special! Tom grew up a few miles from my home and he loved to tour me around West Paterson and show me where he used to serve as an alter boy, which was a few blocks from my Mother's home.Once we took the time to pull over and walk over the bridge that goes across the Paterson Falls. Tom was all heart and soul. He loved to talk politics and tell me about his family. God must have needed someone with broad shoulders to help out right now. Tom, God Bless and Rest in Peace. I will light a candle for you at Saint Patrick's Cathedral in your memory this Christmas morning. You are missed. Judi

Tom was one of the brightest, funniest and most talented of our classmates at St. Mary's. I'm so sorry that I did not have the privilege of keeping in touch with him since graduation. My heart goes out to his family.

To the Murphy family ... My prayers and condolences go out to you. I am so sorry to learn of Tommy's passing. I remember him fondly as one of my dear childhood friends back in the Paterson neighborhood we grew up in together. I also remember all the sweet Summer days we spent together as pals, along with his brother Jimmy. He was quite the entertainer then, and he always made us laugh. Rest in peace sweet childhood friend. Ruth Ann (Feeney) Hofmann, now living in Texas.
