Lindsay Kinneberg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 3 to Oct. 6, 2010.
Kinneberg, Lindsay K. age 28, of St. Louis Park. Cherished daughter, compassionate friend, loyal companion to her dog Louis, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 23, 2010, due to complications from Lyme Disease and its co-infections. Born 12/19/1981 in St. Louis Park, Lindsay attended St. Louis Park Senior High School (class of 2000), Grinnell College in Iowa (2004), and Berkeley Law School (Boalt Hall) in Berkeley, CA (2007). Although Lindsay graduated, she could not take the bar and pursue her passion in Public Interest Law, for Lyme Disease had already invaded her body. Her friends would describe Lindsay as kind, caring, compassionate, silly, unassuming and she returned those feelings in her fierce and intense love for her family and friends. She fought Lyme Disease for over 5 years with her unusual intensity. After surrendering her spirit to her Savior, Lindsay has joined her beloved sister, Jennie in the kingdom of God, where they both left behind their broken earthly bodies, and now their souls are together again in the love & joy of Heaven. Preceded in death by her cherished sister, Jennifer Jean (Feb. 2010), grandparents, and cousin, Leah Katayama. Lindsay will be immensely missed but eternally loved by her parents, Michael & Teresa Kinneberg and her dear friends. Services to be held Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 3 p.m. with visitation 1 1/2 hours prior at Wooddale Lutheran Church, 4003 Wooddale Ave., St. Louis Park, MN 55416. Phone 952-926-7603. Private Interment. Donations preferred to turnthecorner.org. (Lyme Disease advocacy).

I knew Lindsay when we were legal interns at the Homeless Advocacy Project in San Francisco. Our clients were by definition people who suffered from mental illness and were homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Lindsay was a star, sharing her light with dozens of clients. Her light not only illuminated for them what their next steps in law would be but also helped them recover something inside themselves. She was a generous coworker who affirmed what was real and true. I will always remember her.

It is very sad that a woman with so much to offer the world dies so young. It is horrifying when she dies because she had a disease that is treatable and so ignored by our medical system.
I don't believe I have ever read an obituary so touching and beautiful. Clearly she was loved.

My deepest sympathy to your family for the loss of your precious daughter(s) this year. I talked to Lindsay online quite a few times in years past, we had much in common, our LLMd's that we had seen & the painful symptoms of Lyme and even our belief in God. I hadn't heard from her in some time & have thought of her often. She will be missed. May God give your family the peace that surpasses understanding. Until we meet again Lindsay, Dana

My daughter also has Chronic Lyme Disease. She has had it since early 2005 but it was not diagnosed until May 2009. She has been very sick and is totally disabled. We had lost our son, her brother, to a brain tumor in Feb. 2009. I share your grief in the loss of a child. Mine is also in heaven. My daughter battles this horrible disease every day...her pain is so bad sometimes she can hardly stand it. Please accept my sincere sympathy. So sorry for your loss. It is difficult to lose another person to Lyme & Co. Thank you for supporting Turn The Corner Foundation, who help to fund research to find answers for this disease. I hope to join the research family soon and help to find answers to prevent more deaths. I have been fighting Lyme for more than 6 years, and have come close to death a couple of times myself. ...May angels lay their wings as a path for Lindsay... as she enters their presence... as they welcome one of their own.. she understands the fight we all have (including other members of my own family) now with these infections..better than any...and we call to her to remember us.. as we will not forget her... and to send her healing light... to us.. to shelter us in our battle.. now that her own soul is healed...some of us did not know you Lindsay.. across the miles.. but you have been in our hearts.. as we fight together...and we will not forget you.. and take us with you in Spirit... we miss you.. and we will keep fighting on...your example.. inspires us...none of us know when our time might be.. and we are all afraid... we would rather have all of you with us...but knowing you are there.. to hold our hands when we fearfully step over that same threshold...helps us to not feel so all alone...today..( Oct 3, 2003 ) is the anniversary of the day we lost my father.. Dr. Peter H. Bosen.. probably also to lyme.. but not diagnosed...and this is the first I heard of Linsday's passage.. Dad... reach out to this daughter.. hold her hand as she comes your way.. I lend you to her for her parents sake.. take care of her.. as you would me..and lead her to her loved ones who have gone before...to keep safe.. and feel loved by them and those below...and God grant comfort and peace to her parents here ... she is with you still...and you are not alone...He promises.. He is with us always.. until the end of time...+ God Bless and Keep all of you.. and my sister.. in the fight for survival...in body and spirit... Lindsay.. From Elayna J.
