A rose once grew where all could see,
sheltered beside a garden wall,
And as the days passed swiftly by,
it spread its branches, straight and tall...

One day, a beam of light shone through
a crevice that had opened wide
The rose bent gently toward its warmth
then passed beyond to the other side

Now, you who deeply feel its loss,
be comforted - the rose blooms there-
its beauty even greater now, nurtured by God's own loving care.

Deacon Bill was a dedicated advocate to the Respect Life Mission:"defense of human life at all stages, from conception to natural death,".

Bill was also very dedicated to Our Blessed Mother and the praying of the rosary. The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is on October 7, the day God called our beloved Deacon home.

His compassion for all and his love of his faith was truly inspiring. May he rest in peace with his beloved wife.

Love and prayers my friend!

Bill was a shining example of what we should all strive to be.

He was my neighbor and I will miss seeing his smiling face everyday. He always had a kind word to say. We would talk about the weather and current events but above all he could never say enough about his daughter Mary and granddaughter Brooke. He loved them so much.

He was a gentleman, kind and caring, a person I am proud to have known.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family. May he rest in peace.

Deacon Bill was a caring, patient and godly man who provided kindness to my dying step-father Bernie Wallseck and consolation to my mother Sophia Wallseck during her time of sorrow several years ago. He also provided our family with comfort when my mother passed earlier this year. My deepest sympathy to Deacon's Bill's family. God Bless you for sharing him with many, many people. I am confident that he is in heaven singing with the angels.

Do you know that our Deacon Bill Hetzel went to almost everyone's wake. Most of the time, you may not of known because he came early made his visit, signed the book and left. As long as you were a member of St. Jude's Parish, even if he did not know the deceased or the family, he made this his regular task as our Deacon. Check your sign in books and you will be surprised that he came, prayed for for your loved one, and left ;most people unaware that this was his regular habit.

Our lost is great for he performed so many kind deeds that no one was aware of in the Parish.

Mary,

I'm so sorry to hear of your father's passing. He was a great support when I lost by first husband William Gochee in 1989. You and Allan were classmates at St. Jude's. May your father rest in peace and may your memories support you in your loss. Warm condolences, Rosemary Treonis(Gochee) Longboat Key, Fl.
