Margaret Wood Obituary

Margaret Ellen Collins Wood, 96, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Bella Vista. She was born on February 15, 1915 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Margaret was born and died in the same building. On November 18, 1939 she married Edward Houston Wood Jr. at St Peter's Catholic Church in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death in 1997.

She was a member of St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church. She lived in Minneapolis for 50 years and was active in the community. With her outgoing personality, she presided over many organizations in Minneapolis including school associations, garden clubs, and church outreach. Throughout her life she enjoyed gardening, bridge and golf and spending time with family and friends. After living in Minneapolis, she moved back to Wisconsin to be closer to her family.

She is survived by one son, Robert Wood (Kellie) of Salt Lake City, UT, two daughters, Carol Knight of Bradfordwoods, PA, and Mary Beth Piedrahita (Sergio) of Medellin, Colombia, South America, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three siblings: Louis Collins, Mary Collins MacKowski, and Robert Collins.

A Memorial Mass for Margaret will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church with Rev. Doug LeCaptain officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery immediately following the service.
